Our Team
David Hancock, Principal Agent, Owner, and Client Relations and Risk Manager Consultant. He evaluates our clients’ risks and exposure and recommends solutions.
He has been a business owner for more than 30 years in the construction and contracting industries, as well as contracting servicing the insurance industry. He was previously a licensed Public Adjuster, working with insureds on their insurance claims. He also worked as a producer for Knight, Lanier, & Matthews Inc., specializing in commercial insurance prior to founding The Assured Group in 2013.
David is a licensed insurance agent, licensed insurance counselor, and holds an AAI designation as well. He attended Emmanuel College, and graduated from the University of Georgia. He is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, and the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, college football, and he is an avid golfer.
David believes that obstacles in life can be turned into opportunities and are just stepping stones to the path for success. His earliest memories come from being raised in a family business and watching his own father model the principles of honesty, hard work, and treating everyone with respect. These principles have guided him all of his life and are the building blocks for The Assured Group.
His motivation to serve our clients as a trusted adviser is founded in part from the knowledge he acquired from prior experience of owning businesses before founding TAG, and also by his own life experiences.
Lisa Hancock, Co-Founder, Customer Service Rep, Bookkeeper and Corporate Moral Assistant.
Lisa has assisted in, and supported the development and success of four businesses from 1987 to present day fulfilling many roles as the need developed. Including, but not limited to, procedures development, management and bookkeeping.
She is David’s wife, the mother of 3 children, and grandmother of 1 granddaughter. She enjoys them very much! She is also a giant dog’s mom, always trying to get him under control. She is an artist and currently enjoys many forms of artistic expression.
Lisa believes that a satisfied life is better than a successful life, because our success is measured by others but our satisfaction is measured by our own soul, mind, and heart.
Lisa’s dream for The Assured Group is that it continues to develop into a business that values people and relationships above all else, that we employee partners who understand the value of the other as well as themselves, and that every individual can be part of a well functioning whole that serves our clients in creative and innovative ways. Her most important function in this business is to never let anyone forget this goal.
Mandy Rowland, Agent and Office Manager. She runs the day to day operations including; managing our processes, procedures, bookkeeping and compliance.
Mandy brings more than 20 years of administrative and accounting experience in the manufacturing, logistics and utility industry; including 13 years with a Fortune 500 Utility company.
Mandy is licensed agent in both Property & Casualty and Life & Health. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Science and Business Administration from Troy University.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends and reading. She is an avid traveler and planner and is often the go to resource for family and friends.
Mandy believes organization and efficient processes are one of the keys to building great relationships with our clients.

June Hancock Strickland, Customer Service Representative, Agent.
June has over 30 years experience in the education field. She is a retired middle school and high school social studies teacher as well as a teacher and consultant for the academically gifted program. She serves as a lead evaluator for Cognia / AdvancEd organization reviewing public and private schools (k-12) for accreditation purposes. She brings this educational background to The Assured Group providing relational attributes that enhance the vision and purpose of the company.
June is David's sister which helps to provide a family atmosphere in the workplace. They are both very familiar with a family business having grown up in one. Her positive approach and outlook on life enables her to incorporate business skills while applying familial attributes to all of our clients' insurance needs.
Her favorite quote is from Helen Keller who said, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." She has a servant's heart and desires the best for our clients.
Some of June's passions are family, friends who are like family, baking, traveling and she is always open to new experiences.
Christen Woodard, Agent, Customer Service, handles all personal lines of insurance, and some commercial lines as well.
Christen started with The Assured Group in 2019. Prior to that, she worked in cardiac electrophysiology for 4 years, and as an insurance agent and customer service representative for a year. She attended Vanderbilt University and is a member of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. She regularly donates time and resources to other health organizations as well. Her previous experiences allow her to place herself in the position of the client easily, so she can gain a greater understanding of their needs.
In her spare time, she enjoys creating through painting, making handmade greeting cards, writing, and music. She is a very avid reader, and loves playing board games and trivia with anyone willing to accept the challenge.
